Working closely with our client, we reworked an established garden into something more contemporary and useable. Our main challenge was working alongside the mature chestnut trees, which although brought gravitas to the scheme but caused a lot of shade and took moisture from the soil. Establishing the right choice of plants in the first year was key to this beautiful garden’s success.”, “Essex”, 2020, “Our clients loved gardening but needed a little help choosing what would thrive in these conditions. We extend the patio to match with the existing natural stone. Curves and circles were used to draw the eye sideways as the shallow garden wraps around the property, creating the illusion of a larger space.
