Urban Courtyard

Making the most of your outside area is essential when space is limited but with careful thought and planning even the most compact of space can pack a lot in. The upper terrace in this design has room for an outdoor sofa, as well as a bistro table and chairs. Timber trellis panels screen the shed and working area, matched along the top of the boundary wall to offer further privacy from neighbours. We created a low maintenance planting scheme for minimum of upkeep,which also gives year round interest to this chic courtyard. One of our favourite trees, the beautiful, multi-stemmed Amelanchier softens the view in and out of the garden while the Trachelospermum jasminoides (jasmin) gives year-round structure with deep glossy foliage. Through summer, the highly scented star-like flowers are perfectly placed next to the main seating area, for scented evenings al fresco.
